Shingles

Shingles
Shingles is a painful red rash that occurs in clusters on the skin. The red spots can blister and burst creating crusts and it looks like chicken pox. Shingles can be very painful and require painkillers to manage the discomfort.
What is Shingles?

Shingles is an infection that causes a painful rash. It is typically found on your chest and tummy, but it can appear anywhere on your body, including your face, eyes and genitals.

Shingles is caused by the varicella-zoster virus, which also causes chickenpox. Early diagnosis is key to treating shingles, so if you've not had chicken pox before and you've been around someone with chicken pox then you should seek medical advice.
